Stewart Walker

Founder, Funeral Director

Stewart Walker joined his father in 1970 as the second-generation funeral director serving families in Spanish Fork and Payson, Utah. A year later, in 1971, Stewart expanded the family business by opening a third location in Provo, Utah. His entrepreneurial vision continued to drive growth, and in 1997, he partnered with Tom Sanderson to open a location in Orem, Utah, creating the Walker Sanderson brand.

A licensed funeral director and embalmer, Stewart also holds a degree in accounting, which contributed to his success in managing and expanding the business. Throughout his career, he made a lasting impact on the funeral industry, serving as president of the Utah Funeral Directors Association and actively participating on several boards. He was a pioneer in introducing prearranged funeral planning, helping families prepare and find peace of mind.

Stewart’s lifelong passions include airplanes and flying, as well as a deep love for golf. While he no longer participates in either activity, his enthusiasm for both remains strong. These days, Stewart enjoys traveling with his wife, Linda, and cherishes spending time with his family. Although retired, he continues to stay connected to the family business, stopping by the funeral home almost daily when he’s in town to share his wisdom and uphold the family legacy.
